Pacific Gender Support

About PGS

Who Are We?

Pacific Gender Support is program of Pacific Gender Institute. It is run by a Steering Committee comprised of transgendered people, significant others, facilitators and therapists; many of whom have extensive experience from their past and present involvement with other transgender organizations. All of us see the benefit peer support has given our community, and many have experienced it first-hand. We are determined to continue this valuable service for our friends, including those we have yet to meet.

Our Mission

Pacific Gender Support provides information resources and peer support for individuals interested in and concerned with gender identity issues.

Our Values

  • awareness and celebration of diverse gender identities and presentations
  • a climate of freedom, learning, love and wisdom, where individuals are supported in being true to themselves and living with integrity
  • personal development, self-understanding, and increased self-confidence
  • individuals creating meaningful relationships, integrating self and community, and building stability in social situations and employment
  • continuing research into the issues of gender identity
  • non-discrimination on the basis of age, race or color, sex, gender, affectional or sexual orientation, socio-economic status, religion, politics, cultural background, national origin, or disability

About Our Site

Design on the PGS web site was done by various PGS volunteers. Our menu system is based on the Suckerfish example here, created by Patrick Griffiths and Dan Webb, who have generously allowed us to use their really nifty ideas.
